 Frequently Asked Questions

Message from Jeff Jones, PGA.

For years my wife and I were running our three boys to play different sports including baseball, football, track, soccer, and basketball to name a few.  We had a few goals and one was to let our children experience different sports and see what they liked.

Then the light came on why not a golf program?  That is when I started the after school program and in a short period of time the program has grown to the largest single program in the U.S.

You will not find an easier, more convenient, and affordable way to introduce golf and golf instruction to your children.  All equipment is provided for free and we have offer more programs on weekends should your children take to the sport.

The instruction program gets results. It teaches the participants the core fundamentals and sets the stage for future skill development.

I listed answers to other questions below and I look forward to seeing your kids at class.  Golf is a lifetime sport that teaches many good life skills and I highly recommend participation.

Q.        My son or daughter is in Kindergarten are they too young?

A. The program was designed for kids from Kindergarten through 5th grade and they will understand the material and can learn to execute good swings.

Q.        Do I have to attend the practice sessions?

A. Parents do not have to come to the athletic field until the class is over. We pick the kids up at the school and escort them to the athletic field for the lesson. Parents are always welcome to come and watch if their schedule allows.

Q.        What if my child is in extended day?

A. We check out the children in extended day and after the class we escort them back to extended day and check them back in to the site coordinator.

Q.        Where are the sessions held?

A. All classes are conducted at the schools athletic field so there is no transportation off site.

Q.        Do you provide all equipment?

A. We bring clubs, mats, and balls so you do not need to bring anything. Sensible shoes and for girls avoid skirts and dresses if possible.

Q.        What if it rains?

A. If it is not feasible or safe to conduct the lesson the kids will be monitored inside for the duration of the class and the lesson will cover valuable information such as how to fill out a scorecard, rules, etiquette, hole layout and much much more.

Q.        What is covered in class?

A. Students will learn all of the four strokes including full swing, pitching, chipping, and putting.  The swings are broken down into four parts: The set-up, body action, arm swing, and hand control. The class is fast paced and highly structured with many safety and conduct rules designed to get the maximum productivity out of each class.

Q.        Should I send in water?

A. Water is always a good idea. We get water before heading to the field but sending in a water bottle to fill up to have available during class is always a good idea.

Q.        What other programs do you offer?

A. We run weekend instruction and play leagues, weekend play only leagues as well as camps and parent/child events. Our goal is to provide year golf programming so your golfer can develop and have fun.

Q.        Do you sell equipment?

A. We sell US Kids Clubs as I feel it is the best equipment and has the highest resale value when your child grows out of the clubs they have. We drop ship it to your home and sell it cheaper than you can find it at any store or on-line?  Additionally, we sell the practice balls we use in class as they can be hit in any neighborhood allowing your golfer the opportunity to practice in between lessons.

Q.        What is the next step?

A. Since golf is an individual sport, each group of parents can choose to do as little or as much to help their son or daughters improvement. Feel free to call me and I will discuss what options and programs I think are best for your junior golfer.
